Scene 1
An office with “Headmaster” written on the main desk, and several chairs on either side.
A man walks towards the desk and starts looking over some papers. He picks up the telephone.
Headmaster: Francis, could you please ask Andrew to check if the school site is functioning properly? This last print-out still has Mr Hind as part of the staff, when he left four years ago… Yes. Oh?
He listens and sighs.
Headmaster: Yes, of course. You send the email and I’ll make sure I bump into him sometime today. Thank you.
He sits at the desk and turns to the computer screen. There is a knock at the door.
Headmaster: Come in.

My mother named me after a spring flower, Violet. My body expresses the colour of my emotions, like a chameleon blending into its surroundings.
Today I want to tell you something very personal
For it is what slam is all about.
I tried it only once before
In a safe environment.
But this time I don’t know you at all.
Let me introduce you to my not-so-old past.
Since my early childhood, I was told that I was destined for great things. I was not only a diligent child in class but also in my daily life. I was always attentive to my surroundings and to others. On one ordinary spring day, I noticed a change in the demeanor of a classmate who was usually radiant.
